Business or Pleasure Trip

He was on a business trip. He had been there a few times before but usually fly in that morning and fly out again that night. This time was different he was meeting with his representative had setup an appointment later in the day and he couldn't a flight out until the next morning. He was annoyed but he also he knew he needed the down time. He got in and the rep picked him at the airport and drove him to the place he wanted to see the latest equipment being used. The rep had told him it would be at least 2 hours long and a meeting after that to discuss in detail a possible sale, which he hated but it was the nature of the beast. After 2 hour demo and another 1 1/2 hour meeting he was getting hungry and he still had to check into his hotel. Yes the machine was good and looked like it would do what was promised but he had a few questions that would wait until tomorrow when they met. The rep said he had dinner all planned. He asked "Can you take me to he hotel so I can check in and drop my bags off?" Rep said sure as his wife was meeting them for dinner and she was going to bring a friend along. He thought oh great a fucking blind date to boot.

Yeah he gotten divorced a few years back and work took alot of his time but he still managed to get out once an awhile, if not on a date at least out. He went up to his room and dropped his bag and freshened up a bit and went down to the get the sales rep out of the bar and go get dinner over with.

He had been chatting with a woman online for a several of months now and was planning on making a trip to see her just out of the blue. He couldn't get her to tell him where she lived though. Yes they had exchanged pictures and knew what each other looked like and he had grumbled to her about this trip. She said "Let me know how it goes that night and we can tweet for a bit." So they went out to restaurant on the other side of town. It took forever he thought to get there but he relaxed a bit and thought "Oh hell I might as well enjoy the night." They drove what seemed like forever. They finally got to the restaurant and went in, they had gotten there first, his wife had sent him text saying they would be there shortly. His phone went off and he checked it. It was her, she said she had been duped into going on a blind date by her best friend and that they were on their way there now. Said it was some guy that her husband did business with. She was reluctant but agreed and was not really looking forward to it.

After about 10 minutes. The rep said there is my wife and her friend. He recognized the friend from the pictures that had been exchanged. He tweeted quickly "Don't let on we know each other" and the response was "??????" As they got closer she saw what he had meant in his tweet. She looked at him intently, almost taken a back and silently nodded in approval. The introductions were made they ordered drinks for the women. Shortly the were informed their table was ready. The rep sat his wife while he sat her down. They continued to make small talk the whole evening. The meal was good, the wine bold and the company was turning out to be great. At one point during the meal the reps wife made the comment" See this is better than twitter you actually get a face to face" They both just nodded not agreeing or disagreeing but smiling silently to themselves as the meal continued. They went back to the bar after the meal for another few drinks and were talking when the rep mentioned that he should get home as he had a early appointment in the morning. His wife said "Oh dear how are we going to do this?" Her friend had driven them to the restaurant and she didn't want to impose on driving him back to his hotel. She said it was okay that she would drive him back to his hotel and that they could go home.

Their hands had brushed against each other a few times during the evening and the electricity that flowed between them was almost too much for them to hold back. They walked to the rep and his wife to their car and watched them drive off. They turned and looked at each other for a moment and was if a starting gun went off they embraced and a long passionate kiss ensued. The world around them stopped for those moments. They broke the kiss and both said "After all these months tweeting we meet like this" She looked at him and asked where he was staying and he told her. Her response "My place is closer."
